Hey everyone,
Just some quick updates on my status. Currently working on compiling a reel of the best work I’ve done on Indiana Jones: Adventure World for facebook, and having a little fun with it in the process. Also I just upgraded my dumb phone to an iphone and noticed my site does quite work properly on smart phones. Going to fix this problem with a wordpress theme designed for mobile.
Alright that is all, back to work!

It took a while, but the new site is finally ready! There are a few things I hope to accomplish with the complete redesign of sterlinganimation.com. First, the switch from Joomla to WordPress has made everything so much easier to update. This means I’ll actually be able to maintain an animation blog and regularly post projects to the site (like I wanted to in the first place!). Second, I wanted to use this site not only as a way to network, but to reach out to aspiring artists and animators and help steer them in the right direction as early on as possible. Lastly, I’m just looking to be inspired and motivated. I’ve been out of school for a few years now, and I’m just not coming into contact with different artistic perspectives as I once used to. Hopefully I can get some useful critiques or words of encouragement to keep me seeing my projects through to the end.
I’m very excited about the future opportunities this site will present for myself and others as well. Please take a look around, let me know what you think, and stay tuned!

Sadly this reel is some of the only remaining trace of Super Dance and Music Pets on the internet. You can see the breakdown and higher res version if you click on “Reels & Breakdowns” on the nav at the top of the site.

This is an unreal tournament 2004 level I worked on with 3 other classmates. It consisted of three floors, the church main hall, upstairs library, and an ancient tomb in the basement. I modeled and textured various objects (including the bookshelves, centerpiece statue, and tomb columns), helped design and create the basic layout of each floor, and optimized the level performance by zoning and optimizing geometry and object layout. This was really our first taste of a game production environment and we had a blast creating the level.

Here’s the reel that got me my first gig. While looking at some of this animation makes me cringe today, I can’t help but think back to simpler times. You can find the full breakdown by clicking on “Reels & Breakdowns” on the nav bar to the right.

Back in the day I was a Game Maker fiend. Now that I use Flash in my every day job I’ve taken it upon myself to learn some Action Script. I’ll be posting my personal game projects in the coming months!

I’ll be dabbling in scripting with MEL/Python for Maya over the coming months. I’ll be posting my adventures with it in the “Scripts” catagory.

I know how tough it can be to find a well done and efficient rig. I’ll be posting my own rigged creations here for everyone to use. Please bear with me as I do have a lot going on right now. In the mean time please contact me if you’d like to work with me on a project that requires my animation or rigging skills. Thanks!

I’ve got a lot on my plate right now so this might take a while, but I’ll be posting art in the “Stills” catagory when I get the chance.
